Profile

Brian Chung, a 2011-2012 Moreau Post-Doctoral Fellow in American Studies, teaches courses on Hip-hop Studies and Asian American Studies. Chung earned his PhD in American Studies at the University of Michigan in 2011. His dissertation, "Exceptional Vision: Chineseness, Citizenship, and the Architectures of Community in Silicon Valley," combines Asian American Studies and Performance Studies with Cultural Geography. He has been awarded fellowships from the Graduate Rackham School of the University of Michigan, the Chiang Ching-Kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange, and the Center for Citizenship, Race and Ethnicity Studies at the College of Saint Rose. He has presented his work at the annual conferences for the Association for Theatre and Higher Education, the Association for Asian American Studies, and the American Studies Association.
