Jason Ruiz

Profile: Jason Ruiz received his Ph.D.
in American Studies from the University
of Minnesota in 2008. He recently co-edited a special issue of the Radical
History Review (Winter 2007) and is currently collaborating on two edited
anthologies. Ruiz is also working on a book manuscript based on his dissertation, titled “Americans in the Treasure House: Travel to Mexico in the U.S. Popular Imagination, 1876-1910.” He has held fellowships from Macalester College, the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History, and the University of Minnesota’s MacArthur Fellowship Program
Teaching Interests : Ruiz’s courses focus on a range of topics including Latina/o Cultural Studies, Oral History Methodologies, and Popular Culture.
