Author: Sarah Morris

2014 American Studies graduate Alex Barr has been featured on Creighton University's Magis Program website: http://www.magisctc.org/magis-difference/teacher-feature

The Magis Program, modeled after the Alliance for Catholic Education program at the University of Notre Dame, is a two-year service teaching program that " strives to develop a corps of talented, highly motivated, and faith-filled educators to meet the needs of the Midwest's Catholic elementary and secondary schools." During Alex's time as an American Studies major at Notre Dame, he became deeply involved with American Indian studies within the classroom and through independent research--including his Senior Thesis. Alex will be teaching Social Studies and Language Arts to middle schoolers at St. Augustine Indian Mission in Winnebago, Nebraska.
