Kong Pheng Pha lecture, "Hmong American Critical Imaginations and Queer Subjectivities"

You are invited to a talk by Kong Pheng Pha, PhD, Assistant Professor of Gender & Women's Studies and Asian American Studies, University of Wisconsin,  on March 16, 2026, from 4:00-5:30 PM, in the Sojourner Truth Commons, 300 O'Shaughnessy Hall. 

Pha's talk, "Hmong American Critical Imaginations and Queer Subjectivities," will be followed by a catered reception in the same venue. 

Pha is the author of Queering the Hmong Diaspora: Racial Subjectivity and the Myth of Hyperheterosexuality (UWA Press, 2025), which examines Hmong racial and gendered subject formation and cultural transformations against the backdrop of U.S. sexual and queer liberalism.
