Mediating Media: The Contemporary Face of American Journalism

Join the American Studies Club as they present their innagural event of the Fall Semester. Professor Josh Roiland will join students as they analyze clips from The Daily Show and The Colbert Report and discuss the ways in which humor, celebrity, and news intersect to meet the needs of American audiences. Other topics to be addresses will include credibility and the news, the effects of social media on the news, and bias within the American media. Pizza and refreshments will be served. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
