Ingrid Gessner is a professor of American Studies at the University of Regensburg in Regensburg, Germany.  Her current research centers around cultural memory studies, sports culture and twenty-first century American fiction.  Professor Gessner has taught “Postmodern and Poststructuralist Perspectives” and “Cultural Studies and Beyond”

Ingrid Gessner is a vibrant international scholar and her talk, “The Aesthetics of Remembering 9/11: Towards a Transnational Typology of Memorials”, allows her the opportunity interact with faculty and students.
